Annichen Sibbern Bohn (born 1905, died 1978) was a Norwegian knitter, designer and writer. She is best known for her collection of Norwegian knitting patterns, which in 1929 led to the publication of the book Norwegian knitting patterns . She worked at the Norwegian Folk Museum when she started collecting the patterns, and her collection of knitting patterns laid the foundation for the diversity of knitting patterns that is known in Norway today.
Norwegian knitting was not really a term until Annichen Sibbern Bøhn’s book in 1929. This was the first Norwegian knitting book, featuring both the Setesdal lusekofte as well as Selbu mittens.
The book was hugely influential on the mid-century Norwegian knitting-boom.

In 1905 the union between Sweden Norway was dissolved. The Norwegian government, needing to find culturally significant national symbols, hired Sibbern who was working at the Norwegian Folk Museum . Sibbern traveled the Norwegian countryside, collecting folk patterns that early 20th century modernization was quickly leaving behind, and her collection of knitting patterns laid the foundation for the diversity of knitting patterns that are known in Norway today.
The patterns she collected and which were made available for the first time to the public were, among other things the classic patterns of setesdalskofta and selbuvotten. This single work gathered these all patterns that, some would say, saved this tradition from the being lost to history.
