It has a simple pattern and is knitted on straight knitting pins, making it a quick knit for beginner and experienced knitters alike.

The pattern is for 2 sizes, child & adult, and the hat in the photos was knitted using Cascade 220, a soft warm yarn, on 4.5 mm knitting needles.
Cascade 220 is an aran weight yarn which can be substituted with any aran yarn.

The hat looks good with or without a bobble.

P.S. In Scotland, Berwick is pronounced with a silent W
