THE BIRSAY BABY BLANKET:

This soft, warm baby blanket was knitted using Drops Alaska Aran, 100% pure wool, which gives great stitch definition and knits up quickly.
This wool can be substituted by you with any Aran yarn.

The blanket has a diamond shaped cable pattern, a twisted stitch pattern, an eyelet row, cabled borders and a hearts design. (If you want to customise your blanket, you could exchange the hearts for lettering of baby's name/ birth date or other symbols in the 4 rows the hearts are in. Or knit these rows in the main shade and then add your design in Swiss darning)

The pattern is a joy to knit and knits up quickly, having simple but effective cabling and easy twisted stitches.

It would make a lovely gift, handknitted by you.

The blanket is approx 68 cm x 75 cm
And is knitted using 4 mm and 4.5 mm knitting needles.
Tension:
9 stitches x 12 rows per 4 inch (10 cm) square
